Cloud-native doesn’t mean what most teams think it does.
And it definitely doesn’t mean buying every “as-a-service” tool you can find.
Too many teams assume cloud-native means:
→ Shifting everything to the cloud
→ Slapping a cloud logo on the same old tools
→ Rebuilding with microservices because “best practice” says so
But in the real world, cloud-native is different:
→ Optimised workloads that scale with demand, not with your invoices
→ Infrastructure-as-code that makes ops simpler, not a spaghetti mess of scripts
→ Architectures built for agility and resilience, not just for the slide deck
The truth?
Cloud-native is a mindset and a capability, not a shopping list.
The best setups are pragmatic. Purpose-built. Business-aligned.
If your team’s chasing cloud-native by adding more tools… you might be missing the point.
